Halminen Homes signed a $400,000.00 cheque for the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation on December 20th, 2011, as part of the 5 Day Build project that took place in the summer of August 2010. “In this season of giving it is with great pleasure that Halminen Homes presents this gift to the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation” said Hannu Halminen, of Halminen Homes. “This brings to a conclusion the journey that we started with our trade partners last year. We hope the funds will go to help the foundation accomplish it’s goal of raising funds to give the Clarington residents the improved health care that the new critical care unit will provide”

On October 23^rd, 2011 Oshawa Airport closed its runways for the second annual 5K On The Runway. The event is a fundraiser for Oshawa’s Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre. With support from many local business and the City of Oshawa the event raised over $44,000 and saw over 600 participants run and walk the 1K and 5K courses.
